Who this is for: Anyone who clicked an AnswerPath invitation link and hit an error instead of being welcomed in.
Time: 2 minutes.
The link you followed is missing its secret token — usually because it was retyped by hand, truncated by an email client, or forwarded in a way that broke the URL.
Go back to the original invitation email and click the link directly, rather than copy-pasting.
If you forwarded the invite to yourself, open it from the original inbox instead.
If all else fails, ask the admin who invited you to send a fresh invitation.
A generic failure from our end. Common causes:
The invitation was already used (you accepted it, then clicked the link again).
The invitation was revoked by an admin.
The invitation expired.
A temporary network glitch.
Try signing in directly — if you're already a member of the organization, you're in. If you're not, ask the admin to send a fresh invitation.
If you aren't signed in, AnswerPath will first ask you to create an account. That's expected — create the account, then the invitation finishes accepting automatically.
Make sure you create the account with the same email address the invitation was sent to. If you sign up with a different email, the invitation won't attach to that new account and you'll have to ask for a new one.
Wait up to a minute — occasionally the accept step is slow.
If it's still spinning, refresh the page. If that also fails, clear your browser cache or try a different browser.
Ask the admin to confirm the invite is still active and hasn't been revoked.
For reference, this is what a working invitation flow looks like:
You click the link in the email.
If you're not signed in, AnswerPath asks you to sign up or sign in — use the same email the invite was sent to.
You land on a page that says "Processing your invitation…" for a moment.
You see "Invitation accepted! You have joined the organization."
A Go to Dashboard button appears; it also redirects automatically after a couple of seconds.
If any step deviates from that flow, check the error messages above.
If nothing above works, the simplest fix is to ask the admin to send a new invitation:
They open Settings → Organization.
In the Invitations table, they find your row and click Revoke.
In Send Invitations, they enter your email again and click Send Invitation.
You'll get a fresh email with a fresh link.
Use the email client, not the preview pane. Some preview panes mangle URLs. Clicking from a real inbox usually works better.
Don't share the link. Invitation links are single-use and tied to a specific email. Forwarding them to a colleague won't give them access — they need their own invite.
Act promptly. Invitations expire. The faster you accept, the fewer things can go wrong.
